Houdini - Adopted June 2009 -- Thank you Jenna & Pete!!
Black & white male approx birth date April 1st.
I am a very handsome boy with those striking white & black markings on my face and throughout my body! I am also a very sweet boy but timid around people new to me, as well as in new surroundings.  You may have seen the picture and read the story of my sister the little one-eyed calico Cita so you may already know that evidently she and I had a pretty rough time of it living on our own in the streets before Animal Services picked us up. Update on Houdini and sister Cita -- when I came into my foster mom's care, my sister and I were terrified and as a result cowered and hissed when approached. Within just a day we no longer did this but were still timid especially around people new to us.  My foster mom believes that my sister and I had a pretty rough time of it living on our own in the streets before Animal Services picked us up.  Also when we first came to my foster home we were not as playful as most of the other kittens, again my mom believes that that has to do with most of my young life spent just trying to survive, so play time was a luxury.  But all of that has changed!!  Now I'm a happy little boy and I come right up to my foster mom to have my belly rubbed and chin scratched!  And I'm even a lap kitten, I lay in my foster mom's arms and look up into her face adoringly as she gently strokes me. And I'm not as timid with new people, as long as they are gentle with me, I will soon be purring in their arms as well! It's amazing what a safe environment and kind, gentle people can do with a kitten's confidence!!  I'm litterbox trained and don't scratch furniture, instead I like to stretch my front paws on a sisal twine scratching post and on the Turbo scratcher. I'm now an indoor kitten and prefer to remain so, protected from hazards of the outdoors. And I'm hopeful to go to a home where my family will treat me as gently and kindly as my foster mom does, and I really hope that my sister Cita is adopted with me!  We have been through so much together, and she is just as nice a kitten as I am and it would be a shame to split us up and send us to separate homes.
